CHI Partner’s main focus is investment capital raised from its limited partners, often alongside other strategic or financial investors.
Alone or together with other investors, we invest in controlling or significant minority stakes in companies and real estate projects in CEE.
As for real estate, we pursue flexible investment solutions, individually tailored to meet the objectives of our limited partners. We execute strategies across a range of asset classes including primarily residential and retail assets, with a focus on development and value added strategies. In respect of assets other than real estate, we focus primarily on businesses in the following key sectors:
Energy
Financial
services
EU-wide push to reduce reliance on Russian energy has made CEE a region for diversification and infrastructure investment. Governments offer incentives to accelerate new energy capacity. CEE countries are expanding renewables faster than Western Europe in percentage terms due to a low starting base and strong tailwinds. This creates an environment where early investors can capture above-average returns.
Financial services firms in Central and Eastern Europe, especially banks and insurance companies, have been actively raising capital to take over competitors in the currently active M&A market, or to meet higher regulatory capital requirements. The value of selected banks and insurance companies’ stocks is still relatively low due to relatively small size and low liquidity. This creates opportunities for investors to purchase significant equity stakes at relatively low prices and consolidate a sector.
We also make investments in other sectors if we find exceptional
opportunities there or a match with our existing investments.
